you are receiving the
lowest price at the time your order an item. Products are subject to availability
and are usually shipped to you in 3 to 5 business days from when your order
date (unless
otherwise noted an order status page, email or phone call you may receive) most times orders are shipped within
2
to 3 business days and within 1 business
day shipping on in stock**
items shipped next business day.
All prices are subject to change
until paid for in full and some quantities may be limited by the manufacturer or
supplier.
All availability is subject to change due to system updating which is done after
8am each day. We do our best to keep the inventory updated throughout each
day to provide our customers with the best in stock information possible.
100% accuracy of information is
not guaranteed.
Our customers are amazed at
our great fill rates. With our ability to complete your order as fully as we can
within 3 business days stems from our total commitment to providing our customers the best possible
rate of fill during the processing of your transaction. No one at
Blue Ridge Hobbies®
likes "out of stock" situations or
incorrect information on our website. We do our best to prevent these situations
with 4 major wholesalers located around the USA. Also, where applicable, we
work directly with manufacturers to offer the lowest possible prices!
To assume that any dealer
or hobby store carries everything in stock at all times would not be a realistic expectation.
We do have a rather large inventory of items to support our customer's needs but
it is very important that you understand, to keep our prices as low as possible
we have adopted a completely different business model than our competitors.
Blue Ridge Hobbies®
has a large buying power
world wide with numerous wholesales and manufacturers. These relationships allows
us to supplement our inventory with over 90,000 additional model railroad items
though our website,
all available to procure the next business day if needed. In most cases, we opt
to keep prices lower and use the 3 day ground shipping option from our
wholesalers and manufacturers to
Blue Ridge Hobbies® store or warehouse.
This allows us to
be more efficient and offer our customers outstanding fill rates and low prices
without the burden of huge inventories. We make every attempt to alleviate
"out of stock" situations
and incorrect information on our website. This means that the chances are
excellent that
Blue Ridge Hobbies®
will be able to complete
your order and ship 100% of your merchandise in the allotted processing time.
This also helps us keep our prices down.
Remember, there
really isn't a need to call us and ask if a certain item is in stock when we can
usually get it for you in one, two or three business days.
If an item will be out of
stock you will be notified via email or phone or at the bottom of your
receipt. Also, you can use the shopping cart comment box to advise BRH how you want

complete your order in the event of a backorder.
Since our website is not a live inventory of products, you can check our main
wholesalers websites (Walthers.com for about 95% of orders and Horizonhobby.com)
Orders and/or add-ons to orders will not be
accepted via email. A new orders or addon's must be placed via the
shopping cart or by calling 800-988-2125.
Telephone Orders:
Effective 06/01/10 all phone orders or order additions to shopping cart / online
orders will require a 2% fee of the total order. This is being done due to the
extended time that phone orders take. In most cases, customers have already
looked at our website and just have not finalized the online orders.
**** We no longer will be able to honor online sale prices for telephone orders.
To get sale pricing, your order must be placed via our online shopping cart.
On Sale Pricing:
Effective
06/01/10 we will no longer adjust any pricing differences in store between on
line sale pricing vs. in store prices.
**** If you would like a product based on the on line sale price, it must be
ordered on line via our shopping cart. In the event that pricing at Walthers.com
is lower then the prices currently available via
our shopping cart, you will, at minimum, get the Walthers.com pricing. Please
note the price difference you are looking for in the comment box with a note
preceded by *********** and then your comment.

Back Orders:
Items not in stock are normally only back ordered at a customer's
request. Back ordered items for residents in the Continental USA will be shipped
as per the shipping and handling information below.
Back orders and special request orders will be shipped
when received after payment.
Credit card is required for all back ordered items.
Back orders are assumed authorized by customers unless otherwise noted in the
comment box and back order field on the shopping cart credit card input page. We
can not call or email you back regarding status of potential back order items.
You can note in the comment field on the shopping cart and potential replacements
for a potential out of stock item.
Backordered items may be shipped
in combination with future orders or as an individual shipment. New shipping and
handling charges may apply.
If you wish to have backorders shipped as one shipment, please note your request in
the comment box at time of ordering.
Backorders or held orders over 8 days old that are on hold for
future shipment with other backorders or future new orders, will be charged to
your credit card for merchandise only until the item(s) can be shipped.

PLEASE NOTE:
Backordered items older than 3 months are subject to potential price increases.
You will not be notified of any price increase. If you would like to cancel any
backordered item, contact

speak with a live person, then leave a message for a call back during normal
business hours. Until you receive a call back and receive a cancelation number,
the order is not considered canceled. Emails are not accepted for backorder cancellations.
It is the responsibility
of each customer to keep your credit card information, address, email and phone

telephone during normal business hours.
Special Order items can not be cancelled. Pending Arrival Items to
Blue Ridge Hobbies® or Pending Shipping To You Items can not be
cancelled.
Backordered, Special Order and Advance Reservation will require an additional
shipping charge and are shipped separately unless noted by you in the comment
field. We can combine Backordered, Special Order and Advance Reservation items
with new orders that have been placed to save shipping.
Special Orders and Advanced Orders:
Items noted as special order either have to be ordered direct
from the manufacturer or wholesaler. Most items require pre-payment and are none
refundable. Items notes as Advanced orders in most cases require pre-payment as
well and are may be none refundable. If you should have any questions, please
contact customer service at
800-988-2125. There is a special customer page to
track the status of your order in these cases.
EFFECTIVE 05/28/08 updated 05/13/10:
Due to customers not picking up ordered merchandise at our retail store:
ALL special order items will require 20% deposit via credit card.
All orders must be picked up within 7 days from receipt at
Blue Ridge Hobbies® and your phone and/or email notification.
After 7 days the merchandise will be charged to your credit card
and shipped to you if not picked up by the 8th day.
Defective merchandise must be returned to manufacturer no exceptions,
including in store purchases.
No Returns or Exchanges on electrical equipment and parts including but not
limited to Motive Power, DCC Equipment, Power Supplies, Switches and Electrical
Turnouts.
Unknown Availability:
Items noted as unknown availability - can be back ordered at no
charge to you. Items can be canceled until they are shipped to
Blue Ridge Hobbies® from either
a wholesaler or manufacturer or other source and is pending arrival at
Blue Ridge Hobbies® . If any is canceled when it is in transit
to
Blue Ridge Hobbies® you will be charge am order cancellation fee. See
the Returns / Cancellations section for more details.
Retired
Items:
In some cases can be backordered. However it could take years
before an order is filled, if at all.
Our base discount is an automatic
25% off most manufacturer's suggested retail pricing. Some discounts are higher
and some are lower. Our regular prices are
lower then most other online and retail locations in the world. With many
specially priced items lower than others sale prices!

type the words ON SALE! in the search engine field to find the ON SALE! items
for each individual manufacturer.
Phone orders or in retail store order will
be sold at the store discount rate, not the internet store rate. Internet store
sale items and specials are not valid in the retail store.
International customers please note:
Effective 05/26/07 -- additional fees for international shipping and paperwork
fee charges
will be added to your total order cost after initial credit card processing.
Unfortunately, these additional fees need to be passed along to you, our
customers due to the additional time needed to process and package your order.

All first time orders from international
customers outside the United States, will be shipped 30 days after you order is
received for processing. Initially, your credit card will be charged the full
cost of your shippable order. Shipping is charged to your card at time the order
is ready to ship. This is done to prevent credit card fraud.
Once you have established an account with your first order, any further orders
using the same credit card will be processed within 3 to 4 business days.

Estimated Shipping and Handling:
Shipping charges for services
are exact cost and will not be quoted prior to order confirmation.
We shipped via the lowest cost shipper based on your location.
CONTINENTAL US
Most domestic orders are shipped US Postal Service Priority Mail ground for
starting at about $4.80. All packages are shipped by weight and we ship via the
lowest cost carrier is used in all cases to save you money.
Bulky, heavy and high value items may be shipped exact
charge via US Postal Service, United Parcel Service (UPS) or Federal Express (Fedex).
Please provide a street address for these UPS deliveries. United States
Postal Service (USPS) and (Fedex) shipping is also available upon request.
Shipping charges for these services are exact cost. Expedited services are
available at actual costs.

ALASKA AND HAWAII:
Orders may be shipped United States Postal Service, UPS or FEDEX
Air. Shipping charges for these services are exact cost and will be quoted prior
to order confirmation.
INTERNATIONAL:
Orders may be shipped United States Postal Service, UPS or FEDEX
Air. Shipping charges for these services are exact cost. Your credit
card will be charged at the time of your order for the cost of the items
purchased less cost of shipping. There is a 30 day hold on all international
orders. Then the day it is scheduled to ship, shipping and
handling
charges will be processed to your order completing the order. See below for
overall processing time. This is done to prevent credit card fraud.
Countries on the banned purchase list due to numerous
fraudulent purchase attempts are: Mexico, Singapore, Thailand and Brazil. Any orders
from these countries with a credit card billing address or shipping address in
these countries, will not be processed
Requests to have the
declared value to be less than the actual value of the package will not be
honored.
Standard parcel post air to
ground: (Please allow 4-12 weeks delivery time)
Minimum $5.00 handling fee plus actual cost of shipping (you can
estimate your
shipping cost as 20% on orders less than $150 and 15% on orders
over $150 before
discounts). Tariffs and other fees may apply and be charged to
your credit card after
you receive your order. You will be notified via email if this
occurs.
Blue Ridge Hobbies®
does not have any control nor do we know in advance of the shipping of product
to you, what the cost will be. In most cases, there is no additional fee or
tariff charged by the country you are shipping to.
Air Mail: Minimum $5.00 handling fee plus actual cost of shipping

Hazardous materials, such as alcohol based-paints,
solvents, resins, and paint removers cannot be shipped outside of the United
States.
New Customers (please note):
For your protection, we can only ship to your credit card billing
address. After 90 days, you will be able to ship packages to an alternate
location. We apologize for any inconvenience.
HANDLING FEES:
Minimum fee per shipment $1.00* effective with order placed from 01/01/09.
SHIPPING FEES:
Shipping cost is the actual cost of shipping. No additional fees or
charges are added.
- General Shipping Costs (in most
cases):
Standard: via USPS Priority Mail and are shipped via weight. Insurance
is added fee a nominal fee and at the shippers discretion. No other additional
shipping costs are added on.
PLEASE NOTE: all orders are shipped by weight and your shipping cost
will reflect that cost. Please contact us for more details. The
average cost of shipping via USPS Priority Mail is about $6.65 (including
insurance and delivery confirmation). Small items that can
be shipped using padded envelopes, such as Kadee coupler products, will reduce
the overall cost. Estimates for your specific shipping and handling cost can
not be determined prior to shipping.
Also, if you ship to a business (commercial) address and the lower cost shipping is via
UPS or Fedex, you can save an estimated $2.00 per shipping!

Reimbursement for lost shipments:
Due to increased postal delays,
Blue Ridge Hobbies®
will reimburse you for any loss ONLY AFTER we have been reimbursed by the USPS
or OTHER CARRIER. In some cases, this may take up to one year or more. REQUESTS
FOR REIMBURSEMENTS MUST BE RECEIEVED WITHIN 7 DAYS OF SHIPMENT TO YOU.
Insurance Liability Coverage:
United States Postal Service (surface or air): A maximum of
$600.00 per shipped carton. Insurance is added to most orders for a nominal fee
when shipped via USPS.
UPS or FEDEX has a maximum of declared invoiced value per shipment.
Hold Policy:
Local customers (within 100 miles of the warehouse
or store):
- Items may be held for 7 days for items
received by or in stock at
Blue Ridge Hobbies® then
will be shipped to your without notification to the recipient on the 8th day.
Non-local customers living within the 50 Contiguous United States:
- Items may be held a maximum of 5 days.
For all other customers outside of the mainland United States: Items may be held
a maximum of 7 days. Holds may not be extended beyond specified days. Please
provide a fax number or phone number and credit card number with the expiration
date unless special arrangements have been made with customers service call
800-988-2125.
Sales Tax:
South Carolina residents or South Carolina credit card billing
address' or in store purchases regardless of your address will be charged the appropriate sales
tax.
Mail orders taken by phone, fax or e-mail for delivery outside of South Carolina
will not be taxed.
Internet Online Catalog orders from outside the state of South Carolina are not
taxed AT THIS TIME. If that situation changes, we will post it here.
Damaged Models / Product:
In the event a customer receives a model that was damaged in
shipment by UPS, USPS or FEDEX, please follow the following procedures:
- 1.) Notify
Blue Ridge Hobbies® and the UPS,
USPS or FEDEX shipping receiver office.
- 2.) Make sure you have the UPS, USPS or FEDEX shipper
or tracking number.
- 3.) Retain all shipping materials (carton, packing materials, etc.)
UPS, USPS or FEDEX will notify
Blue Ridge Hobbies® to
issue a call tag at our (shipper) end. UPS, USPS or FEDEX will then pick up the
shipping materials, the damaged model and the box from your address. This
institutes the claim settlement. We will ensure that all corrective action is
performed as quickly as possible.
Checks or Money Order
and Other Payments:
Online shopping cart orders and phone orders
must be paid by credit card (Visa, Mastercard and Discover effective 01/01/10 we
no longer accept American Express) . Check and money orders are no longer
accepted for payment. Wire Tranfers are not accepted.
In store purchases methods of payment are Cash,
credit cards Visa, Mastercard and Discover effective 01/01/10 we no longer
accept American Express and checks
If the check is returned for Non Sufficient Funds
(NSF), Account Closed, Stopped Payment or Unable To Locate, prior to shipping,
there is a $35.00 return check for (which our bank changes us), unfortunately,
we must pass this fee to you before shipping. We will contact you via email,
phone and/or mail to advise you of your options.
Return checks will be collected to the full
extent of the law and will be prosecuted if not paid.
Please make sure you have the funds available in to avoid these fees!

Items sold by
Blue Ridge Hobbies® are
warranted to be as advertised and to be satisfactory to YOU. Any item you find
to be unsatisfactory should be returned directly to the manufacturer for credit or
refund or replacement.
Defective merchandise must be returned to the manufacturer. No
returns or exchanges on electrical parts or equipment including but not limited
to Motive Power, DCC Equipment, Power Supplies, Lighting and Power Routing
Electrical Switches.
There are some exclusions to our return
policy including, but not limited to, opened software, discontinued items, and
some manufacturers that require their items to be returned directly to them.
EFFECTIVE 9/14/08:
It is your responsibility to see that the manufacturer receives the merchandise in the original
package, in saleable condition (unless defective when you receive it). You may
return items up to 30 days after purchase (the date on your receipt). Please include a copy of your
invoice/packing list/receipt. NO EXCEPTIONS

Include a letter of instruction in the package advising if you are
requesting credit or
exchange. Write your Return Authorization number on the
outside of the shipping carton.
Pack carefully. We are not responsible for damage during the return
shipment. We suggest
that you insure your return package to us if it has a
high-dollar value.
